The core principles

Define spaces — a large rug anchors a seating area; smaller rugs highlight reading nooks or dining zones. Anchor furniture — at minimum, rest the front legs of sofas and chairs on the rug. Living room

Anchor your furniture with a large rug (all legs on, or front legs on for a modern feel), layer a smaller textured rug like faux fur or chunky wool on top for warmth, and choose neutral or warm shades for a calm, cozy space.

Bedroom
