The simple rule: one beach towel per person, plus one or two spares. So a family of four wants about five or six towels. The spares cover the towel that gets soaked, dropped in the sand, or claimed by a child as a superhero cape. Buying them as a set or bundle is cheaper than one at a time, and it is the easiest way to get matching or easy-to-tell-apart towels.

Why the spares? Because on any given beach day at least one towel gets wet through, buried, or borrowed. A spare or two means nobody is drying off with a damp towel.
Why a bundle beats buying one at a time
- Cheaper per towel — sets carry a lower unit price than singles.
- Easy to tell apart — multi-colour sets mean no arguments over whose towel is whose.
- They match — tidier on the sand and in the linen closet.
- Fewer decisions — one purchase covers the whole family.
For families, the weave matters even more
Six thick terry towels are a genuine packing problem — they fill the boot before the cooler and the parasol are in. Six flat-woven Turkish cotton towels take roughly the space of three terry ones, dry far faster on a balcony rail, and shed the sand the kids drag home. For a family, that is the difference between one manageable bag and three.
